O.k. Ive got myself involved with a road trip that may or may not be cursed from the start. I had dinner with a friend that I haven't seen in two years last night and she said I really needed to blog about this.

All right, here's the deal. I agreed to help a friend get two cars from Portland, Or. to Evansville, In. , in exchange for the plane ticket to Portland( turned out to be 10 glorious hours of air travel). I lived in Portland from '03 to '07 and had not been back since, so I probably wasn't thinking clearly when I agreed. The cars are a 1972 Cutlass and a 1973 Nova. We are going to pull the Nova with the Cutlass. I might have the years reversed, but I don't think a year here or there matters much when you are dealing with 35 year old cars. I envision starving to death before we get out of Oregon, but then I fear anything away from my routine and comfort zone. I'm sure we'll get home sooner or later.

It's Friday morning and we hit the road on Tuesday. The cutlass is currently getting things like the gas gauge and seat belts fixed, new shocks, that kind of stuff. So, I'm going to try to enjoy myself for the next couple days see some friends and places I miss, and pray and meditate for optimism and willingness to accept whatever happens on the road between here and there.

I don't know what the next couple weeks hold for me but I'm pretty sure it will get interesting.

I promise to be honest about my state of mind for the entire trip, to post pictures(the picture here is from the last time I made this drive), and to write at least once a day(internet access willing). Thanks to Kristen for gettin me motivated to do this. Let's see I can finish somethin I start.....B
